Yea, 20 minutes. That’s truly all it takes me to write a blog. I know, weird. Honestly if it took me longer I wouldn’t post so frequently. I type ridiculously fast (the wrong way) and thoughts just flow. I can not wait to tell you about the new writing gig. I will be looking for some awesome females to interview, if you know one or are one, let me know! I have a list of several that come to mind immediately, so I might be contacting you, that’s your warning! I do have to let you know however, that beginning next week we will slide to a Monday, Wednesday and Friday publishing schedule here on Ironmomma…. to give me some time for the new writing gig!
And yes, I am on Twitter. Charlie made me do it. It’s my name, so you know who I am.
The weather has finally broken ’round the ROC, although historically we get one more winter storm after the first day of spring. The good news is that our amazing outdoor pool is scheduled to open on April 1st. We will have a pool party and all. Cross those fingers, Tim is working himself to the bone to get this to happen.
The water will be eighty degrees, the air temperature will not be, so I have finally ordered myself a new parka.
If you grew up in a pool you owned one of these babies. This is what you wear on the pool deck when it’s COLD. early mornings can bring quite a chill, so this is something I will definitely use throughout the summer.
I can’t wait. I can’t wait to feel the sun on my back. I can’t wait to feel the road beneath my front wheel. I can’t wait to hear the sound of the gun as I run into the ocean with waves big enough to surf. I can’t wait to feel the feeling of testing myself again, in a new and different way. I can’t wait to be on that microphone at early o’clock blasting our pre race instructions for athletes.
Someone needs to pinch me every single day. I am just not sure it gets better than this.
I am most excited for a day like today. When it might be warm enough ….. so that when the bus gets home I will have Luc’s bike out and ready to go. Riding with him is my absolute favorite thing in the world. Someday the three of us will ride across the country together. We will dip our wheels in the Pacific and then we will dip out wheels in the Atlantic. In between there will be miles and things you can only see on a bike. The way we saw Europe.
Life is amazing, isn’t it. You get to create it to be that way, that’s the amazing thing about all of this. You don’t need to be dictated, victim, life is the canvas and you are the artist. When it really comes down to it, you are never stuck, never trapped, never kept from living your dreams. You can do that every single day. You just have to understand what they really are. I will give you a hint: many people think they dream of doing the Ironman. It really has nothing to do with the Ironman.
