What happens in the falls…..
September 3, 2012I am just about finished with our Share the Road meeting recap, you can look for that right here on Tuesday. OH THE SUSPENSE. I know.
Before I forget…. a GIANT THANKS to my pal Ultra Adam for the above blog art! He’s a gem. Check out his website –> http://www.peruta.com/
We had a rare weekend at home. So we went to a wedding in Buffalo and then hopped over the border to Niagara Falls. Growing up with one of the seven wonders of the world in my own backyard…. I admit…. I took it for granted.
The obligatory self portrait in front of one of the seven wonders of the world.
And I had to rescue Curt from some ramped dinos. The Canadian side of the Falls gets a little wilder.
Of course at the wedding…. I did have the ability to hang with my typical superhero friends.
One fellow that came with us…. he always comes…. is one of my most longstanding friends.
Mussel. (from the Musselman Triathlon for those of you new to the train. Google it, and sign up).
It’s the calm before the storm around here. This week we send Curt to 70.3 World Championships in Vegas. As you recall I qualified for this race a year ago. A few months ago when we came to the realization that I would need to leave on the first day of school, I decided what every mother (I would hope) in their right mind would do. I pulled out.
We fought too hard and it’s too critical a time to be running across the country the day Luc begins a new school. It’s just wrong.
So Curt is.
And in one month. It’s my turn.
Back in the winter when I was enduring a little health crisis, I remember saying…. I just want to feel good again. I was asked the question…… if you could do anything right now to feel good, what would it be? I sat there for a few minutes with my eyes closed. I wanted to go back to where life was simple. I wanted to go back to the middle of the Pacific and be on an island with a surf board.
So I booked the trip to Kona. At the same time I get to surf my brains out I get to support the 26 athletes we at QT2 have racing at the Ironman World Championship. And I will be kicking off against Chris McCormack, two time Ironman World Champion. Fundraising efforts kick off in one week (pun intended).
I am also going to drink a lot of coffee. It’s Kona for crying out loud!
It’s about time to make the paper chain. It’s almost time to put together the suitcase. But in one month I am going to Kona with some very awesome people, and no worries….. I will bring you all with me.
